Current taxes related to automobiles are as follows:
① Purchase stage: Individual consumption tax (ICT, for passenger cars with 8 or fewer seats), education tax (30% of ICT), and VAT
② Registration stage: Registration tax and acquisition tax
③ Ownership phase: Vehicle tax (levied annually)
④ Fuel-related: Transportation tax, motor fuel tax, education tax, and VAT
⑤ Others: Purchase of public bond and environmental improvement charge (for applicable vehicles only)

You can pay for the car with cash or credit card, or through an installment plan.
You cannot offset the price of your present car or use a debit card.

Reduction of vehicle tax for passenger cars with a vehicle age of over three years is still in effect; the formula for substitution is as follows:

Hyundai Motors currently has no program for compensation of used cars.
Therefore, the customer must dispose of his/her current car separately.

You can get a refund for the down payment if you cancel before the release of the vehicle, and please contact the branch/dealer where you signed contract for more information.

You can wire the down payment and the principal for the vehicle to the designated account specified in the auto sale contract or your virtual account, and please carefully keep the statement of deposit without account.

[Vehicle Purchase]- [General] I paid the mandatory insurance premium when I bought a Genesis car. What kind of insurance is this?
The mandatory insurance is valid only during the temporary service period after a car leaves the shipment center. Cars with temporary operation permits must subscribe to the mandatory insurance under the amended Guarantee of Automobile Accident Compensation Act to compensate the victim of a traffic accident that occurs during the temporary operation period. The compensation liability period is the temporary operation period of 10 days from the date the car leaves the shipment center (until 24:00 on the expiration date), and the premium is subject to the fixed premium for the type of vehicle (less than 10,000 won in most cases). Therefore, a buyer of a car must sign up for one-year liability insurance or comprehensive insurance before the temporary operation period expires. The mandatory insurance is a one-time extinctive insurance policy that is automatically terminated when you return the temporary operation certificate or subscribe to another liability insurance.

Auto lease is an auto finance product in which a capital company purchases a vehicle that you want and leases it to you while you pay a monthly fee to the capital company.
Customized products are available to suit various needs, and you can contact the salesperson or branch/dealer for auto lease in the same way as with installment or cash purchase.

Due to the amendment of the Personal Information Protection Act in August 2014 you cannot use the credits from the family card/family member.
You can only use the credits under your name and the joint subscriber’s name for auto purchase for both the blueMembers credits and Hyundai Card M points.
[Vehicle Purchase]- [Credits] Is there an expiration date for credits?
The expiration date for Hyundai Card M points and Hyundai Motors partner card points is 5 years from the date of initial accumulation. So points past this period are erased every month counting from the date of initial accumulation.
[Vehicle Purchase]- [Purchase Conditions] I woud like to know about the benefits of an auto purchase under disability conditions.
There are 3 major benefits of auto purchase under disability conditions.
① Special consumption tax exemption for vehicle
② Regional tax(acquisition fee, registration fee, auto tax) exemption (based on Seoul)
③ Tax exemption for governmental bond purchase
General disability grades 1~3 and veterans grades 1-7 are eligible for all benefits above and disability in other grades is eligible for government bond purchase only (based on Seoul).
※The contents of tax exemption for regional tax differ by each regional ordinance so please confirm with the relevant regional organization before the purchase.
[Vehicle Purchase]- [Purchase Conditions] I woud like to know about the requirements for an auto purchase under disability conditions.
Auto purchase under disability conditions is available for purchase under the sole name of a person with disability or under the joint name of a spouse sharing a household on the registration card, immediate family, sibling or spouse of immediate family of the person with disability.
However, some conditions apply; for vehicles purchased under the joint name with the person with disability, you must maintain the identical condition (Identical household under Resident Registration Act) for 5 years after the release of the vehicle and, in the event this condition is not fulfilled, you must pay the amount of exempted tax.
And the limit on repurchase is 5 years, during which you must maintain identical vehicle, and you have to pay the amount of exempted tax if you fail to fulfill this condition.

When you buy a new Genesis with a down payment over 100,000 KRW using Hyundai Card M, we will give you an advance discount on certain portion of the amount corresponding with the credits(200K/300K/500K).
The discounted amount will be reimbursed with the credits that are accumulated depending on the performance of your Hyundai Card M for the following 36 months and when you fail to reimburse the amount, the entire amount will be requested in the following month when the card invoice is requested.
Save Auto program is only applied upon request, and interests are not levied when the payment is requested for the unreimbursed credits during this period.

You are free to pay for your auto purchase with your credit card for any amount you wish, within the limit of your credit card.

Yes, you can. You can pay with as many credit cards as you wish.

No, you cannot.
Paragraph 3, Article 126-3 of the Restriction of Special Taxation Act stipulates that the amount spent using a credit card for the purchase of a car is not subject to income deduction (effective December 1, 2002).

A new auto installment without separate fee has relaunched in June 2013 in order to support auto purchase. We have different products depending on the ratio of down payment and the installment period as well as installment products by vehicle type. The interest rate on the installment loan is fixed.
The same interest rate is applied throughout the installment period.
Fixed interest rate means the interest rate will not increase or decrease during the installment period.

No, you cannot.
An installment loan is regarded as financial debts, and the Specialized Credit Finance Business Act prohibits paying financial debts with a credit card.

If you paid back the installment, you need to request the authority to cancel the collateral security.
If collateral security is set against a car, it will not be automatically canceled even if you pay back the installment. Check the collateral rights holder in the vehicle registration forms A and B issued by the authority. If the right holder is Hyundai Motor, visit the nearest Hyundai Motor branch with vehicle registration forms A and B to request the Application for Collateral Security and submit it to the authority.

[Maintenance Reservation]How do I make a reservation for maintenance over the Internet?
Visit the Genesis homepage, select [FIND A DEALER / SERVICE CENTER > FIND A SERVICE CENTER] in the menu, and click Reserve maintenance. You need to log in first so that we can manage your maintenance history. Click the relevant items according to the guidance for reservation. You can make a reservation for any date between two days and up to two weeks from the date of requesting a reservation.
[Maintenance Reservation]What is a reservation pending in the maintenance reservation?
If you cannot make schedule a reservation at the time you want, you can request a reservation for the desired time and our center representative will give you a call and go through the reservation process. Reservation pending is not a confirmed reservation. Online reservation only applies for maintenance related to functional failures of the vehicle. If you would like a metal plate/painting due to accident, etc., you can visit us without maintenance reservation.

Genesis CarPay automatically loads the vehicle registered for Genesis Connected services. If you want to delete the vehicle from the list, cancel your vehicle registration in Genesis Connected Services.
[CarPay]What is an external cancellation?
An external cancellation means that you cancel your selection of the vehicle for payment through ways other than the Genesis CarPay applications (e.g. via the Genesis customer center). A vehicle canceled externally is not available for payment unless such cancellation is revoked.
[CarPay]If the vehicle is externally canceled, what should I do to use the vehicle again?
If you applied for an external cancellation through the Genesis customer center, you can revoke the cancellation by making a request to the center. In case of an external cancellation caused by the sale or transfer of ownership of the vehicle, such vehicle cannot be used again.
[CarPay]I received a parking discount coupon at the store. How can I use it?
If the store system recognizes your car license number and offer you a discount electronically, the discounted amount will be automatically applied. However, if you have a paper coupon, proceed as the following to get a discount.

1. Go to the password input screen on the vehicle’s navigation.
2. Check the Paper ‘Parking Discount Coupon’ box.
3. Enter the payment password.
4. Pay the pre-discount amount.
5. Submit the paper coupon when exiting the parking lot.
6. The discount amount will be partially canceled from your payment and refunded.
※ Refund for partial cancellations of paper coupons will be processed in 2–3 business days by your card company. For more information, please contact your card company.
[CarPay]When paying for parking through Genesis CarPay, can I get a multi-child discount or a disability discount, etc.?
Yes. Various types of discounts are offered. For such discounts, you should become a member of iParking, a mobile application-based parking service offered by Parking Cloud, our parking service partner, and certify that you meet the requirements for discount. Upon completion of the certification and registration process, you will automatically receive such discounts.

1. Launch the iParking application.
2. Move to Menu > My Information > Reduction Condition Management, and select the + sign, and select Parking Fee Reduction Conditions and proceed with the registration process

Fees incurred after completion of payment through Genesis CarPay are required to be settled separately when exiting the parking lot.

In such cases, Genesis CarPay will not be activated.
[CarPay]Can I use my membership points or a parking discount coupon after completion of payment?
You may not use or earn any membership points or use a discount coupon after completion of payment. You will need to cancel the payment and then pay again. To use membership points or get a discount, you are required to select the point and discount on the screen before entering your payment password.

It shares the same limit of your card.
[CarPay]How do I register my payment password?
You can set a payment password when you register your payment card. If you want to change your password, go to Menu > Card > Select Card to Change Password > Change Payment Password; then change your payment password.
※ A different password for payment can be set for each card company, which will be collected and managed by the respective company. For inquiries on the payment password, please contact the card company.

Your 6-digit payment password can be set for each card company, and is required when you make a payment through Genesis CarPay on the navigation screen.

You can check your payment history in the Genesis CarPay application as follows:

Payment made through Genesis CarPay can only be canceled through Genesis CarPay.

You can use Genesis CarPay at gas stations and parking lots that have partnership with us. You can check our partner gas stations and parking lots on the vehicle's navigation panel and the Genesis CarPay application.
[CarPay]Can I check the service partners on the navigation panel?
Yes. If you select G-CARPAY from the menu on the navigation home screen of a vehicle supported by Genesis CarPay, you can check our service partners near your current location and set them as destinations.
[CarPay]Are there any plans to expand service partnership in the future?
Yes. We are planning on continuous expansion of our service partnership.
[CarPay]Can I pay in advance before arriving at the gas station?
The service becomes available after the vehicle arrives at the gas station. If you select a gas station or parking lot outside a certain range, the navigation pop-up will guide you to use the service after arrival.
[CarPay]How do I register my membership and use or earn membership points?
Register your membership on the Genesis CarPay application and set your membership point for each location to use or earn your membership points at the time of payment.

1. Launch the Genesis CarPay application.
2. Menu > select the + sign on the right side of Membership and proceed with the registration.
3. After completing the registration, go to Menu > select Membership Point Setup
4. After setting the points to earn or use for each location, select ‘Set Points’ at the bottom.
5. The points are displayed on the vehicle's navigation screen at the time of payment. Check the box if you want to use the points.
※ The points must be set before you can check your membership points on the navigation screen.
※※ Membership is available only at gas stations and parking lots that support such membership.

You can check the remaining membership points on the Genesis CarPay application > Menu > Remaining Membership Point at the top of the screen.
(Each time you enter the menu, your remaining points will be updated.)
[CarPay]If my card is lost and I consequently suspend it, will the card be suspended from Genesis CarPay, too?
If a card registered with Genesis CarPay is suspended, it is suspended just as your physical card.
[CarPay]Do I need to re-register my card when the physical card is reissued?
Yes. Previously registered cards cannot be used. Please delete the previously registered card, and register and use the new card.
[CarPay]Can someone use Genesis CarPay if my car is lost or stolen?
No, another person will not be able to use CarPay. The payment password you registered in the vehicle for payment must be entered in order to use Genesis CarPay. (Also, if another person enters an incorrect payment password 3 times, all the cards of that card company will be deleted.)
The following measures can be taken further to prevent unauthorized use of Genesis CarPay by others in case where the vehicle is lost or stolen.
[Cancelation of Your Selection of the Vehicle for Payment]
You can cancel your selection of the vehicle for payment to disable the use of Genesis CarPay in the lost or stolen vehicle by taking one of the following measures:
1. Launch the Genesis CarPay application, and cancel the selection of the vehicle for payment that is lost or stolen.
2. Contact the Genesis CarPay customer center (+82-1899-3335) for an external cancellation.
[CarPay]Can I still use the service if my car license number is changed?
If your car license number has been changed, please change the registered number on the Genesis CarPay application as follows:

3. Select the vehicle to change the license number.
4. Change the vehicle number by selecting the pencil icon on the right of Vehicle Registration Number.

No. Genesis CarPay is an easy, simple payment service that allows you to make your payment through the vehicle's navigation panel. If the vehicle is sold or transferred, you may no longer use the service with such vehicle. In case of sale or transfer of the vehicle, the vehicle must be deleted from Genesis Connected Services.
[CarPay]Will the service be terminated automatically when the vehicle is sold?

No. The payment password you registered in the vehicle for payment must be entered in order to use Genesis CarPay. Another person will not be able to use Genesis CarPay with your lost mobile phone. In addition, if you lose your phone, you can contact the Genesis CarPay customer center (+82-1899-3335) to suspend the service.
