The majority of the Charge Point Operators are already planning to introduce Plug & Charge.
It may take up to a minute for the charging session to start. Various factors such as charging station software, network connection and response speeds influence the time it takes to start.
In the unlikely event of Plug & Charge not working, you can still start charging through Charge Pass² and Shell Recharge app.
If this does happen you should check to see that your Recharge Pass is activated in the Shell Recharge app.
If it is but the problem remains, you should contact the Shell Recharge helpline for additional support.
Yes, you can continue to use the charge card of your preferred Mobility Service Provider (for example, Shell Recharge).
Plug & Charge is an additional method to pay for your charging sessions and does not replace your charge card.
The Plug & Charge ID can be found in the Genesis vehicle using the infotainment menu and going to the EV Settings Menu. Additionally, a Genesis Personal Assistant can find your Plug & Charge ID for you. The Plug & Charge ID may also be called the "Provisional Certificate Identifier".
Open the "EV Settings" menu and deselect the Plug & Charge checkbox. To restart Plug & Charge as the standard payment option, reselect the checkbox. Do not remove Plug & Charge in the Shell Recharge app, as this will permanently remove the feature from your car.
To remove Plug & Charge from your Genesis you will need to:
1. Select your charge card/contract in the Shell Recharge app and unlink Plug & Charge
2. Plug in to a charging station
3. The charging contract is automatically removed from your car
