SIMPLE AND CONVENIENT
Our fully electric vehicles can use either fast (AC) or ultra-fast (DC) charging stations. What's more, the 3,7 kW vehicle-to-load functionality available with some models enables you to harness your car's energy to power electrical appliances or even charge other vehicles.
The Genesis charging system was developed to be as convenient and self-explanatory as possible. To make charging even less of a hassle, we also include two types of cables as standard delivery – an ICCB and a type 2.
Your Genesis warranty covers the batteries in our electric models for up to 8 years or 160.000 km, whichever comes first.⁴ The batteries are built to last so you can always recharge whenever you want, without worrying about a detrimental impact on the battery.

The automotive manufacturers and the federal government are jointly subsidizing the purchase and registration of all-electric vehicles. Benefit from this incentive when purchasing your electric model of choice - and receive the environmental bonus³ of 4.785 euros in total. The environmental bonus consists of the federal share of the environmental bonus in the amount of EUR 3,000.00 (for applications from 01.01.2023 up to and including 31.12.2023) and the manufacturer's share of Genesis in the amount of EUR 1,785 (gross). The prerequisite for the grant is a holding period of 12 months from 01.01.2023. In the case of vehicle registration as of 01.09.2023, only private individuals are eligible to apply.
The charging time depends on the battery's charging level as well as the charging point. From ultra-fast charging at a 350 kW charging point in as little as 18 minutes³ (10 - 80 % SoC) to a household socket with a charging time of over 34 hours, there are significant differences. Find out more about the different charging points and the time required in our charging time overview.
The abbreviation AC stands for alternating current and DC for direct current. Although only direct current can be stored in the high-voltage battery, you can use both alternating current and direct current to charge your electric car. Alternating current will simply be converted into direct current by an AC/DC converter integrated in the vehicle.
In an electric vehicle, recuperation is the recovery of energy. In an electric car, taking your foot off the accelerator causes it to noticeably decelerate. As the driver, you will feel a resistance similar to engine braking. This resistance creates kinetic energy which is converted into electricity via an internal generator. This electric energy is stored and used to accelerate the vehicle when needed. By using regenerative braking more than normal brakes you will produce less brake dust, decreasing air pollution.
Electric vehicles have the advantage when it comes to saving on maintenance and service. The German automobile club ADAC has compared the total service costs of both vehicle types and calculated that the maintenance costs of an electric car are about 35 % lower than those of a petrol or diesel vehicle – mainly because electric cars are not as susceptible to wear and tear.
