In 2022, the tournament was renamed as the Genesis Scottish Open as part of the title sponsorship agreement and was decided to be co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour, making a first for the event in the history of both tours.
The Genesis Scottish Open is held a week before The Open Championship at The Renaissance Golf Club in North Berwick, Scotland.
