GENESIS CHAMPIONSHIP

To promote the development of the KPGA Tour, Genesis and KPGA introduced the season ranking Genesis Point system in 2016, and Genesis continues to lead the development of Korean professional golf through the KPGA Genesis Awards.

The Genesis Championship, first held in 2017, opened the era of 30,000-strong galleries for the first time on the Korean Tour. In addition to a total purse of 1.5 billion Korean won, the Genesis Championship provides Korea Professional Golfers’ Association (KPGA) players with opportunities to participate in global tours such as the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour (formerly the PGA European Tour), firmly establishing it as the most sought-after golf championship in Korea.

Officially sponsored by Genesis since 2017, the Genesis Invitational is one of the PGA Tour’s longest-running tournaments, and beginning in 2022, Genesis will also host the Genesis Scottish Open, one of Europe's most historic golf tournaments. Notably, the Genesis Scottish Open is part of the Rolex Series, which means it’s one of the top five most prestigious PGA European Tour events and offers a total purse of more than $8 million. The Genesis Scottish Open is the first event in history to be co-sanctioned by the two major tours in accordance with the strategic alliance between the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour (formerly the PGA European Tour). The event is held on the links course at the Renaissance Club.
