The driving technology of the Genesis GV70 aims to minimise risk factors between drivers, cars and pedestrians, leaving only two essential elements: safety and convenience.

SAFETY FEATURES

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)

FCA is watching for what you don’t see. When risk of a collision with a vehicle/pedestrian/cyclist ahead is detected, FCA warns the driver and, if necessary, can initiate the brakes to help avoid a collision. In addition, it can automatically assist in braking when there is a risk of colliding with oncoming vehicles from the left and right sides of an intersection. Even when changing lanes, it can detect oncoming vehicles and vehicles approaching from the side, and assist with steering when risk of a collision is detected.

Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA)Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA)

If risk of collision with a vehicle to the rear side is detected while changing lanes, the BCA system warns the driver and assists in braking and steering, if necessary, to avoid an imminent collision. Even when leaving a parallel-parked position, it can detect vehicles approaching and use the brakes to avoid an accident.

The wide-angle camera view is displayed in the instrumentation cluster. It provides enhanced visibility of vehicles to the side of the Genesis GV70 when the indicators are activated.

Tight spaces are no issue thanks to the 360-degree view provided by the Genesis GV70’s extensive camera system.

SAFETY FEATURES

Lane Following Assist (LFA)Lane Following Assist (LFA)

For both safety and a more relaxed driving experience, LFA can be set to follow lane markings or the path of a leading vehicle to keep the vehicle centred. Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) can intervene when the Genesis GV70 is detected leaving a lane without indicating.

Parking Assist

Driver Attention SystemsDriver Attention Systems

Two systems monitor the driver’s attention and provide alerts if less attentive driving is detected. The Genesis GV70’s standard system monitors steering, throttle and drive-time inputs, while its more advanced (optional) Forward Attention Warning (FAW) system monitors the driver’s eyes and face via an internal camera.

RELIABLE PROTECTION

The 8-airbag system features front, front-side, curtain and driver’s knee airbags, plus the new centre-side airbag to protect front-seat passengers from colliding with each other during a side-on impact.

Parking Assist

Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (R-PCA)Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (R-PCA)

Aided by the reversing light system to warn passers-by, R-PCA is included in the Luxury Package and aims to prevent collisions with pedestrians and nearby obstacles at the rear while the driver parks or exits from a parking spot. When the Genesis GV70 is travelling at low speed and an obstacle is detected, it can warn the driver and/or briefly control the GV70’s braking function.
