Lane Keeping Assist warns the driver when the vehicle leaves the current lane without a turn signal. When an unintended lane change is detected, the system keeps the vehicle in the current lane with the help of automatic steering assist. Plus, Lane Following Assist helps to keep the vehicle centred in its lane.
When the system detects an imminent collision from the rear while changing lanes, it either alerts the driver or assists in avoiding the collision through automatic brake activation. If a possible collision is detected while the vehicle is leaving a parking space from a parallel-parked position, the system assists the driver via automatic braking activation.
This futuristic feature assists the driver’s steering in the event of a potential collision by detecting obstacles such as pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles, even controlling the vehicle’s brake to avoid a collision when necessary. The Electrified G80 automatically applies braking when a collision is imminent from the left or right side at an intersection, or adjusts the steering wheel to avoid a collision while making a lane change.
When a passenger opens a door to exit the vehicle, this feature sounds an alert if traffic is detected from behind.
