USING NFC DIGITAL KEYUSING NFC DIGITAL KEY

To utilize the NFC touch function of Genesis Digital Key, just tap your iPhone, Apple Watch, or Samsung phone to the door handle. Once you're inside, either place your device on or tap it to the wireless phone charger to start your vehicle.

SAMSUNG DEVICES
If the user is logged into the Genesis Intelligent Assistant App and lands on this screen using a Samsung device, then the following instructions should be displayed: For Samsung devices supporting NFC only, tap on “Start Pairing” and follow your smartphone’s instructions by placing your device on the wireless phone charger. Then follow the instructions on your vehicle’s display. From the Vehicle screen, tap on Setup -> Vehicle -> Digital Key -> Smartphone Key -> My Smartphone Key, then select Save from the sub menu.

APPLE DEVICES
If the user is logged into the Genesis Intelligent Assistant App and lands on this screen using an Apple device, then the following instructions should be displayed: Tap on “Start Pairing” and follow your smartphone’s instructions by either placing your device on the smartphone tray (NFC Only) then follow the instructions on your vehicle’s display. From the Vehicle screen, tap on Setup -> Vehicle -> Digital Key -> Smartphone Key -> My Smartphone Key, then select Save from the sub menu.

HOW TO REGISTER YOUR DIGITAL KEY

1. APP DOWNLOAD AND VEHICLE REGISTRATION
Download the Genesis Digital Key app from the Google Play Store and complete your registration. Register your vehicle by selecting the [Vehicle Registration Confirmation] button on the digital key app and select the [Vehicle ↔ Smartphone Link] button.

2. VEHICLE ↔ SMARTPHONE LINK 1
In order to link, get on your Genesis and start the vehicle with a smart key. Then put your smartphone on the wireless charging pad.

3. VEHICLE ↔ SMARTPHONE LINK 2
Select [Setup] > [Vehicle]> [Digital Key] > [Smartphone Key] > [Register]> [Save] from the navigation screen. Once registered, you can use the smartphone touch control and digital key app.

Note: Please use the Genesis Connected Service app for the G90 (2022 Launch Model), GV60 digital key.

4. NFC CARD KEY REGISTRATION 1
Check the Bluetooth connection between your smartphone and the vehicle to register the NFC card key. Select [Menu] > [NFC Card Key Registration Verification] button on the top right corner of the Digital Key App.

5. NFC CARD KEY REGISTRATION 2
Place the NFC card key on the wireless charging pad.

6. NFC CARD KEY REGISTRATION 3
Press [Settings] > [Vehicle] > [Digital Key] > [NFC Card Key] > [Register] > [Save] from the navigation screen. Once registration is completed, touch control of the NFC card key is possible.

What is the maximum number of shared Digital Keys for a Genesis vehicle?

Genesis drivers with an iPhone can use their iPhone and paired Apple Watch to access Digital Key, and can share up to 3 keys with other iPhones and paired Apple Watches. Genesis drivers with a Samsung can use their Samsung to access Digital Key, and share up to 3 keys with other Android devices.

Is Digital Key Secure?

Genesis Canada utilizes Near Field Communication (NFC), which exhibits a high level of security. The NFC wireless data communication takes place only when the device and the reader are within a few centimetres of each other.​

No, Genesis Digital Key cannot be used remotely. Use the Genesis Intelligent Assistant app to remotely lock or unlock your Genesis.

How to activate Genesis Digital Key?

To set up your Genesis Digital Key, turn on your vehicle, ensure at least one key fob is inside the vehicle, and open the Genesis Intelligent Assistant app. Then, select your vehicle from the app interface, click on Digital Key, and follow the on-screen instructions to set up Genesis Digital Key.
