GENESIS GV60 NAMED THE CAR GUIDE'S SUV OF THE YEAR

Markham, Ontario, Dec. 1X, 2022 — The 2023 Genesis GV60 has won yet another award, with Le Guide de l’auto naming the first EV from Genesis as, “New SUV of the Year,” in the outlet’s annual “Best Buys” award program.

 

Le Guide de l’auto’s Vehicles of the Year awards program involves the input of eight renowned journalists, with over 150 years of collective experience evaluating new vehicles. More than 40 vehicles were eligible for this award, and winners were selected based on their impact on the automotive market, as well as the following five criteria:

 

1.      Fuel or Energy Consumption

2.     Predicted Reliability

3.     Safety

4.     Driving Dynamics

5.     Overall Appreciation

 

“The Vehicles of the Year award is a long-term tradition at Le Guide de l’auto / The Car Guide, Québec’s most consulted and trusted automotive media. In addition of the New SUV of the Year prize, awards were recently presented for the New Car of the Year and New Truck of the Year. For the first time ever, all three winners are electric vehicles.

About the GV60

 

The GV60 is a high-performance electric vehicle with a sleek and athletic coupé crossover utility vehicle (CUV) design that expands the’ ‘Athletic Elegance’ design identity into the sustainable luxury space.


The interior of the GV60 embodies the ethos of the ‘Beauty of Openness’, seeking to create a spacious and comfortable interior that makes use of distinctive design elements and unique features, such as the Crystal Sphere. More than simply an aesthetic design element, it provides an element of safety and creates an emotional connection between the driver and the vehicle. When the vehicle is turned off, the Crystal Sphere provides a visually exhilarating light show. Turn the vehicle on, and the sphere rotates 180-degrees to reveal a Shift by Wire (SBW) switchgear with haptic feedback when changing directions.

The GV60 is equipped with innovative technologies to provide a unique electric vehicle experience, such as Face Connect, Fingerprint Authentication System, Over-the-Air (OTA) Software Updates, and a next-generation infotainment system. The connected car Integrated Cockpit (ccIC) connects the cluster and navigation into a panoramic display creating for added usability.


The GV60 is Genesis’ first vehicle to be built on the dedicated EV platform known as Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), marking the brand’s move towards electrification. It is available in Advanced and Performance trim – both come standard with all-wheel drive.


The GV60 features a Boost Mode, providing a stirring acceleration experience. Pushing the steering wheel-mounted button immediately increases the performance of the vehicle’s maximum output for 10 seconds, allowing the vehicle to travel from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds.


The GV60 also boasts innovative features like electric-Active Sound Design (e-ASD), Active Noise Cancellation-Road (ANC-R) technology, and Electronically Controlled Suspension (with Road Preview).


A complimentary subscription to Genesis Connected Services allows owners to stay connected with a suite of digital applications and remote services that provide convenience and confidence. Owners can remotely monitor vehicle location, battery status, and range, locate charging stations and adjust climate settings, as well as start, stop, and schedule a charge.
